چکیده
Objective: The current research study aims to calculate entrance surface air kerma for skull, chest, cervical spine, lumbar and pelvic X-ray examinations in interior posterior positions generate a method chest dose reduction decrease radiation risk. Materials Methods: indirect measurement was used the research. tube output measured using RAD-CHECK Plus ionization chamber calculated via applying physical acquisition parameters such as focus on skin distance, times exposure time (mAs), applied voltage (kV), mathematical model. Results: main findings were obtained from comparing doses with reference levels of International organizations American College Radiology Atomic Energy Authority. mean skull (AP), (PA), (LAT), spine pelvis (LAT) adult within diagnostic level values by ACR (2018) except ESD (AP) which 0.88 mGy. Conclusions: results concluded that adjusting voltage, kV, product time, mAs decreased 58%.

which permits unrestricted non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. Within the past 20 years, the radiographic examination in the medical field has increased by a factor of about 3 to 5 times, while the total radiation dose has increased by a factor of about 200-400. This has ascribed to the rapid increase in CT usage (1). T...

When we chose Radiation Dose and Dose Reduction as the topic for the fifth volume in the Radiology Select series, we were very excited about offering a compilation of articles on a theme of utmost importance to all radiologists and health care providers. The concept of the right radiation dose for the right study, at the right time, is central to optimizing care for those patients who require i...
متن کاملIntroducing Radiology Select: Radiation Dose and Dose Reduction
As a consequence of the success of medical imaging over the past decades for aid in accurately diagnosing disease or injury and guiding therapy, the collective radiation dose delivered to the U.S. population from medical imaging has increased six-fold since the 1980s (1,2). This has resulted in substantial concern from physicians, patients, and regulators. Consequently, radiation dose managemen...

Background: Although ionizing radiation is widely used to diagnose many diseases, the relevant hazards are known to be as an important limitation of its application. It is believed that the awareness of ionizing radiation dose values is one of the main stages in patient's radiation protection. The purpose of this study has been to investigate the level of physicians' knowledge about radiation d...
